Activities

All Rivenstar activities are open to the public. You do not need an SCA membership to participate. Please check with the activty's organizer to verify times and locations before attending. The times and locations listed below are guidelines and do not include holidays, adjustments for inclimante weather, or changes in schedule.

Archery Practice

Days: Sundays | Time: 1:00pm | Location: Huis Doorn

Available during warm weather conditions depending on ground condition, the Rivenstar archery practice is the place to be if you're interested in historical forms of marksmanship. Typically, participants use bows and crossbows. Loaner gear is available.

Baronial Business Meetings

Days: 1st & 3rd Mondays | Time: 8:00pm | Location: Purdue's Stewart Center

Rivenstar's baronial business meetings are one of the best places to find information about upcoming events, baronial activities, and other SCA related information. Each meeting includes the Rivenstar officer's updates, the baronial populace updates, and the societal updates.

Thrown Weapons Practice

Days: Sundays | Time: 1:00pm | Location: Huis Doorn

Available during warm weather conditions depending on ground condition, the Rivenstar thrown weapons practice is the place to be if you're interested in throwing axes, spears, knives, or other projectile weapons. Loaner gear is available.

Fighter Practice

Days: Wednesday | Time: 8:00pm | Location: Purdue Armory

For over fourty years, Rivenstar has held fighter practice on the Purdue campus. Both rapier and heavy fighting are available. Newcomers are highly welcomed! In order to participate, you should wear athletic shoes, long pants, and long socks. Additionally, males will need to bring a sports cup. Loaner gear is available.

Dance Practice

Days: Alternating Tuesdays | Time: 7:00pm | Location: Purdue's Stewart Center

Dances we do start with simple steps similar to some modern line dancing as well as some complicated courtly dances all of which are super fun! Dances range from couples to large groups.
