Date & Location

Saturday, April 22nd from 8:00 AM - 10:30 PM EDT

Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds
1406 Teal Rd, Lafayette, IN 47905

This is a beautiful brand new facility. There is plenty of parking and local restaurants are minutes away from the site. We recommend bringing your own chairs as chairs on site are limited. The floors are concrete, so we suggest small rugs for your day camp and good shoes to help prevent fatigue. The site has fully accessible bathrooms available.

Costs

Silent Auction

We will be hosting a silent auction to benefit the Pennsic Scholarship fund. Bring your items to the A&S Pointe table and we will get the items ready for the auction. Bidding starts after 9:00 am and ends promptly at 3:00 pm. You will have until 4:00 pm to retrieve and pay for your item. After 4:00 pm, unclaimed items will go to the second highest bidder. We will accept cash or checks ONLY. We do not have a method of accepting credit cards.

Quiet Room

There will be an "quiet room" available all day for all ages. Adult supervision is required for children in the quiet room.

Animals

Only service animals are allowed on site.

Attention

For those who will be bringing children not their own: There are TWO forms that you will need to bring for each child. They both need to be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. ONE MUST BE NOTARIZED per Indiana law.

1) This form needs the notarization and should be kept with the child at all times: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/treatminor-notary.pdf

2) This form is the usual Minor Waiver: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/chldwaiv.pdf.

PLEASE have both these forms filled out and signed/notarized where appropriate for each child you will be bringing that you are not the parent or legal guardian of. This requirement is out of our control and the children affected will not be allowed to attend if they are not completed properly before arrival. Thank you.

The War of the Stars

We're getting ready for War!

The Barony of Rivenstar has decided to pick a fight with the Baronies of Sternfeld and Shadowed Stars in a Constellation Baronial War. Come join the fight at this year's Three Saints and a War of Stars.

Everyone will get the chance to win war points throughout the event. If you are not a member of a Barony in Constellation, you get to choose which Barony you want to support. We will have jars labeled with each barony's name. If you earn more than one point, you can put them all in one jar or split your points among different baronies. If you are a member of one of the three baronies, we assume you'll support your own barony, but no one will twist your arm to do so. Poaching is allowed on and off the dancefloor!

The Barony with the most points at the end of the event wins. The winner will receive a chest full of the largess items entered into the Largess Derby during the event. The winner can choose to keep the items for their barony or divvy up their loot with the other Baronies and the Crown. Winners of the Largess Derby and the Baronial War will be announced at Rivenstar's Baronial Court that evening.

War Points

These are the activities that will get you one war point:

  • One hour of volunteer work during the event
  • Teaching a class
  • Running a children's activity
  • Presenting or having a display in the Craftperson's Greene
  • Donating an item to the silent auction - one point per item donated
  • Entering the largess derby - one point per entry
  • Entering a tournament - one point per tournament entered

Additionally, there will be points handed out by Their Excellencies from each Barony in Constellation. These can be awarded for excellent service, acts of kindness, or Chivalry displayed throughout the day.

Instructions

We will have boxes where you can get your war points stationed at various areas of the event. Take one war point and place it into one of three jars.

If you worked multiple hours or entered multiple tournaments or competitions, please grab a slip for each hour you worked or each entry. This will make it easier for our tally room counters to calculate votes for each barony.

Youth

Please direct any questions to our director of youth activities, Baroness Enkara of Rivenstar

Nerf Battle

Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Children should bring a nerf gun and safety glasses for a grand battle! Youth and adults alike are welcome to participate, but all youth require adult supervision. Nerf darts will be provided.

Busy Bags

Busy bags with youth activities will be available.

Arts & Sciences

Craftperson's Greene

We will be hosting a Craftperson's Greene so bring your A&S projects to work on and display. Tables are limited, so we ask that you share a 6 foot banquet table with a fellow crafter. We have plenty of space for large floor displays and everything is indoors.

Largess Derby

We are encouraging newcomers to participate, so all entrants must create up to 12 similar items that are suitable for largesse. Minimum entry is 6 similar items. You may have more than one entry. For example: 6 needle books and 12 wire rings would be considered two separate entries.

  • Items need not be documentable, this is not an Arts and Sciences competition
  • Try to avoid using heraldry in your designs as they are meant to be given to other areas.
  • Largess entries should NOT include perishable items such as cookies, candy, or bread. Any perishable food donations will be eaten by the staff!
  • Entries should be labeled for any allergens that may be included.
  • All entries must be tagged and ready to be gifted the day of the competition. You may add your contact information to the item or donate anonymously.

Entries will be judged via traditional populace bean count. Three beans will be given to each person to vote however they choose. The entry with the highest bean count wins.

First, Second, and Third place winners of the bean count will receive a prize.

Largess items will be placed in a treasure chest for the winner of the Baronial War to take home to their barony or to distribute to the other baronies or the Crown as they wish.
