Costs

Attention

For those who will be bringing children not their own: There are TWO forms that you will need to bring for each child. They both need to be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. ONE MUST BE NOTARIZED per Indiana law.

1) This form needs the notarization and should be kept with the child at all times: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/treatminor-notary.pdf

2) This form is the usual Minor Waiver: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/chldwaiv.pdf.

PLEASE have both these forms filled out and signed/notarized where appropriate for each child you will be bringing that you are not the parent or legal guardian of. This requirement is out of our control and the children affected will not be allowed to attend if they are not completed properly before arrival. Thank you.

Single Fight Bearpit: Challengers start at one side of the field, face every Master in turn. Single sword only. Ideally there is enough room and ideally we're fast enough nobody gets a backlog. 60 minutes. (may break it to two sets of 30min depending on field size and attendance) (Interlude) 30 min break. No fighting, go hydrate.

Challenge Fights: Roughly half the field for 3 passes and brief conversation, half the field for coached fights. I'd like to have one of the Masters "walk the field" of 3-pass fighters to drop tips or insights on what they see between challenger and Master. The coached fights will need 3 Masters per 'bearpit' where two are on duty watching the two fighters and the third tags in for the next fight while the 'losers coach' walks with their fighter back to the end of the line to talk about what they saw. 60 minutes. (Interlude) Speed Tournament. All contestants, single pass and double elim, the two finalists join the "on field" Masters for the final round.

Dealer's Choice: Field is broken to thirds. 2 or 3 Masters who'll teach a class. Handful of Masters who'll do intensive individual work (10 minutes apiece?). Handful of Masters and the two finalists who'll hold the field as either 1-and-done, or as 3-touches-then-talk. This one will flex a lot depending on population and expressed interest. 60 minutes.

Charity

Questions? Please contact our Charity Coordinator, Lady Katrin Grimsdottir.

Maker's Silent Auction

We will be accepting donations for a silent auction, to be donated to Heartfod House, a child advocacy center. We are asking for donations of premade SCA related art, kits/tools to make art, or new or gently used books on how to make art.

As much as we appreciate those plastic dragons and used feast gear, we have limited space.

The premade art item does not need to have been made by the person donating the item.

Please drop off your items in the A-Frame no earlier than 8:30 am.

Bidding will be open until 3:00 pm.

If you win the auction, please come to the Charity Registration Table in the A-Frame between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm to pay for your item. Any unclaimed items after 4:00 pm will go to the next person on the list.

Please pay with cash only; we do not have the ability to take credit cards at this time.

Patty Rogers Memorial Bean Bags for Benevolence Challenge

We are honoring the memory of Patty Rogers by helping children in need. When children are removed from homes by social services, they often do not have spare clothes or basic necessities until they are placed in foster care. Members of the Barony are making foster care bags for children and we need your help.

We would like to create gender neutral bags, so the social workers do not have to worry about “boy” or “girl” bags. Please consider donating plain items without designs or characters. Please drop off your items in the A-Frame between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm.

What We Need:
New gender neutral children's T-shirts sizes: Youth SML (6-12)
New gender neutral sweatpants sizes: Youth SML (6-12)

Bean Bag Challenge:
For every item donated, you will get to play the bean bag toss. The target will have different points and the person with the highest overall score at the end of the day will win a prize.

Participants can play until 3:00 pm.

The winner will be announced during evening court. If you cannot attend court, please let the Charity Coordinator Lady Katrin know and alternative arrangements can be made to collect your prize.
