The Barony of Rivenstar cordially invites you to celebrate our 50th birthday with us. There will be fencing, armored combat, A&S classes, children's activities, merchants, and a Royal court.
Saturday, November 1st, 2025 from 8 AM - 10:00PM EDT
Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds - 1406 Teal Rd, Lafayette, IN 47905
This is a beautiful new facility. There is plenty of parking and local restaurants are minutes away from the site. We recommend bringing your own chairs as chairs on site are limited. The floors are concrete, so we suggest small rugs for your day camp and good shoes to help prevent fatigue. The site has fully accessible bathrooms available. This is a DRY site, by county law. Buildings are fully accessible.

Service is one of the core foundations of the SCA. Some of our friends and family that we have come to love in this hobby may be struggling to put food on the table. The help that many have been utilizing is coming to an end. Please consider helping us serve the local community of Rivenstar (Greater Lafayette, Indiana) by donating a food item at the food drive table at All Saints and a Rivenstar 50th Anniversary. After the event, the donated food items will be taken to one of the food banks in Lafayette. Here is a list of high-demand items:
Please no open, home-made, or partial bags of food. All items need to have the original seal and labeling for food to be accepted.
For those who will be bringing children not their own: There are TWO forms that you will need to bring for each child. They both need to be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. ONE MUST BE NOTARIZED per Indiana law.
1) This form needs the notarization and should be kept with the child at all times: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/treatminor-notary.pdf
2) This form is the usual Minor Waiver: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/chldwaiv.pdf.
PLEASE have both these forms filled out and signed/notarized where appropriate for each child you will be bringing that you are not the parent or legal guardian of. This requirement is out of our control and the children affected will not be allowed to attend if they are not completed properly before arrival. Thank you.

Questions about armored combat during the day? Contact our armored MIC: Serjeant Cormac of the Ring Tribe
9:00 am - List Open
10:00 am - The Tavern Brawl:
An all-against-all melee! Make your temporary alliances during the fight, but the last person standing when the city watch arrives to end the fight will be the winner. The weapons must not look like weapons at all so we encourage people to make SCA legal weapons that look like things you might find in a tavern brawl (food items, canes, covertly concealed weapons, knives, etc) the only limit is the imagination of the maker so long as it can pass Marshal inspection and pass the bouncer of the tavern
11:00 am - Game of Thrones:
Teams have to get their VIP to the dais. ONLY the VIP can enter the dais. VIP may sit on the throne if there is no other VIP to contest. VIP will fight for right to claim throne. Timed battle. Total time that VIP sits on throne will determine the victor.
Noon: Lunch
1:00 pm - Fifi's Fight: A capture the flag scenario - except the flag is Fifi the Sheep! The sheep wrangler must carry a large, stuffed sheep back to their side of the line. They must have a gauntleted hand to carry the sheep - Fifi bites! They must drop the sheep if they die. Normal melee rules otherwise apply.
Questions about rapier combat during the day? Contact our rapier MIC: Warder Jacob MacAndrew
9am - Lists Open
10am - Fifi's Fight: A capture the flag scenario - except the flag is Fifi the Sheep! The sheep wrangler must carry a large, stuffed sheep back to their side of the line. They must have a free hand to carry the sheep - Fifi bites! They must drop the sheep if they die. Normal melee rules otherwise apply.
11am - Valhalla Circle of Death: All against all, Last fighter standing. HOWEVER!!! Death is not the ending! PAY ATTENTION to who killed you, for when they die, you may now renter the melee. Making alliances might help...
1pm - Game of Thrones melee: Teams have to get their VIP to the dais. ONLY the VIP can enter the dais. VIP may sit on the throne if there is no other VIP to contest. VIP will fight for right to claim throne. Timed battle. Total time that VIP sits on throne will determine the victor.
2pm - Novice Tournament: Format depending on attendance. Open to those that have not won a tournament, nor received a martial award (Cav knot, etc.) All youth fighters are allowed, no matter awards.
2pm - Pet Food Tournament: No donation required to enter the tournament. Bring a donatable can of food or bag of food/treats for extra lives.
3pm: Class - Dagger Transfers by Warder Maebhbh ny Mannan. This class will focus on the mechanics and strategy of dagger transfers, how to do them, when to do them, and perhaps most importantly, when not to. Full gear will be required, and I ask that if possible, attendees bring their own dagger.
Questions about A&S at our event? Contact our A&S Co-ordinator: Dame Matildis la Libraire
Drop in at any time during the day and share your current A&S projects, works in progress, or displays. Tables are limited, so we ask that you share a 6 foot banquet table with a fellow crafter. We have plenty of space for large floor displays and everything is indoors.
We are hosting a Largesse Drive for items for Their Royal Majesties. There will be a table next to the Crafters Green for people to display their Largesse donations. All donations will be wrapped up for travel for TRMs and presented either just before or during evening court.
There is an item want list on TRMs Facebook page or contact Katrin Grimsdottir for a list. Please add a card or note with your donation so we know who it is from. Also, please add a note for any potential allergens.
Please avoid perishable food items or anything that might break and leak or melt in a hot Midwestern sun. Also, if you are donating cups/mugs/goblets, make sure they are clean and free of any chips or cracks.
This is not a derby competition, so there is no minimum or maximum number of items required.
Thank you in advance for your generous donations!
